If you want to have your document generate a date based on the current day then you can use the date.today() feature.  As a standard, this is based on the UTC date.  Because of this, we have given you a way to standardize based on your time zone.  Note you will see a difference in an hour during Daylight savings time.  If this is important for you then additional conditional logic will be required.

Here are some examples of how to use the date.today() feature to account for your time zone.

If you are in Eastern time then in your documents or a date formula you would put {[date.today(-5)|format: "MM/DD/YYYY"]}

If you are in Pacific time then in your documents or a date formula you would put {[date.today(-8)|format: "MM/DD/YYYY"]}
